Hello my lovelies! I hope you all are doing well.  Today's post is about my staple skin care pieces.  Now, there may be some key pieces missing but that's because I flit between a few different products for certain areas.  I hope this will help you if you are having trouble picking skin care products.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter: Review!

Hello, lovelies! I hope you are all having a great week.  Today I am reviewing another Soap and Glory product, which you can find at most Sephora's in the United States.  The only sad thing is that it isn't the whole product range of the brand, but they keep adding new stuff every year so maybe we'll get there sooner rather than later.

Weekly Roundup #6: March Favorites

Hello lovelies! Better late than never, right? So here it is my weekly roundup of my favorite march products.
1) It's no secret that I prefer men's deodorant scents to women's deodorant, and I picked this one up on special at Walmart.  I got the brand Old Spice in the scent of Aqua Reef. It goes on and has a cooling sensation and it lasts and works all day.
2) I've raved about this before and I'll rave about it again, Soap and Glory's Hand Food is my favorite hand lotion.  I love it so much that I have repurchased it already from Sephora.   I also purchased the Righteous Body Butter and the Clean Girls body wash, but I'll post about those at a later date when I've had a chance to test drive them out.
3) E.L.F. Makeup brush was clothes are now my little time saving beauties.  They are like the makeup wipes for your eyes but you can use them to clean your brushes in between deep cleansing.  The best thing about these little babies? They are under $5.
4) I finally found a Tangle Teezer at Ulta the other day, and now I can see what people were raving about when this became big in Europe.  I got mine in pink, of course, and have been using it everyday.  My hair may be short right now but it actually does what it says on the packaging.  I am really pleased with this.
5) FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, I finally was able to get the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette into my eager little hands.  I am in love with this palette, it is a wonderful combination of gorgeous colors- I love the rose gold theme going on this year, it's gorgeous and lovely and ahhhh I just love it!
What have you been loving this past month? XOXO

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion: Review

I received the Burt's Bees Intense Hydration day lotion in my January Birchbox.  I had been wanting to give this a try since I had seen it in Walmart, but wasn't going to shell out $15 for a lotion I wasn't totally sure I would like.  Enter this sample, and what a sample it is!
The Logistics: It has a quarter ounce of product in a glass case, with a tin twisty lid.  This lotion claims to have intense hydration properties with Clary Sage: Salvia sclarea, clary, or clary sage, is a biennial or short-lived herbaceous perennial in the genus Salvia. It is native to the northern Mediterranean, along with some areas in north Africa and Central Asia. (source, google)  I didn't know too much about this product before I started to research what was in it.  Burt's Bees is a good company that promotes natural products to help improve a person's skin.  The texture of the lotion is a combination between a gel and a cream, which I find interesting.  It's kinda goopy feeling when you first put it on, but then it sinks into my skin and makes it feel WONDERFUL.
My Reaction: I really enjoy using this product and I think I will be purchasing this when I need a new day lotion.  This makes my skin feel hydrated all day, and the smell isn't overpowering but nice.  I am really pleased with this sample, and will definitely be repurchasing this.

Tattoo Care

At the end of this past August, I got my first tattoo. I got it at a tattoo parlor downtown called Iron Tiger, and it was a great experience.  It didn't hurt, but it is small and I have a high threshold for pain too.  It's a semi-colon which to me represents that this is not where my story is supposed to end and that the end is where we start from since in grammar it denotes a sentence that could have ended but instead changed and kept going.
But, how do you care for a new tattoo? First, keep it clean but don't keep it bandaged for longer than a day (or at least that's what they did for mine).  Then wash it twice a day, or more if you are really physically active and sweating, with an unscented Soap.  I used a Dial moisturizing hand wash, unscented, to gently wash it.  You DO NOT scrub or rub hard, just gently wash the tattoo and then PAT it dry.  Then take an UNSCENTED lotion and put it over the tattoo.  The tattoo will scab over and this helps it to heal to where it's not raised and rough.  I would put the lotion on at three different points during the day- when I got up, in the middle of the day, and right before I went to bed.  I kept up this routine up through the second week of September.  The biggest thing is to keep an eye on it and if it starts to look infected or not right, you need to go see a doctor immediately.  I hope some of you can find this helpful!

The Body Shop Body Butter Duo: REVIEW

At Christmas, I received quite a few Body Shop products and I was really excited to try them.  I was not impressed with the mini coconut body butter and mini coconut body scrub, so I figured I would switch it up and try the full sized product I had received.  There are two different body butters in this tub, one that's pretty thick and heavy and the other is really light and creamy.  They both smell really good, and apply really well.  The heavier of the two creams you really have to dig a little bit to get it out.  I have been putting this on after I get out of the shower and it has done a pretty good job at keeping me moisturized during the night and the scent does hang around for a bit and can get a bit annoying.
Now, I have heard a lot of bad things about how they produce their products and how the test them.  I have not dug into the subject very deeply but I know a lot of people who have stopped buying their products because of it.
Have you ever used any Body Shop products? XOXO
