My Perfume Collection

This year I've decided to do more collections here on my blog and on my YouTube Channel- here. Today's collection is my perfume collection.  I've been collecting perfume, high end perfume anyway, and body scents since I was in high school.  The body sprays I would buy with gift cards but the perfumes were usually birthday or Christmas gifts.
Above is my sad layout of my perfumes.  I haven't really found a way to store them yet in a way that I like, so currently they sit on top of my makeup storage drawers.  Maybe when I move into a place of my own I'll have more room to put them out decoratively on a nice tray or something.  But this is functional and works for me right now where I am at with my life.  Now, on to the collection!
Here is the cup that I keep my  open samples, perfume minis, and my rollerball perfumes.  I have a Juicy Couture roller ball that one end broke off of, the classic Vera Wang rollerball, and a Max Azria rollerball that I got at Marshalls.  The mini spray perfumes are samples that I've liked from my Birchboxes, sometimes I love the scents and other times I hate them, so I put the ones I like in here.  Then I have a mini of Clinique's Happy perfume, I haven't really worn it much because it's more of a spring time/ summer scent.  The glass has a water filled bottom with sea shells in it, I believe it was meant to hold toothbrushes but I didn't like that idea so I made it my own.  I got it for three dollars at Tuesday Morning.
The first perfume I'm going to tell you about is the Harajuku Lovers perfume in Lil' Angel.  I have to admit that the only reason I wanted this perfume in the first place is because of the cute doll on top but it actually turned out that I really enjoyed the scent of it as well. The perfume itself is very sweet and florally, which sadly sometimes gives me a headache.  A really nice thing about this perfume is that it travels really well.  The bottom is glass but a very thick and sturdy glass and the doll protecrts the mister.  I have traveled all over the country with this perfume and I have never had any trouble with it leaking or getting broken.
This next perfume is still fairly new to me but I had been wanting to try it for a while, Taylor Swift 'Wonderstruck'.  I picked this up in a gift set I saw at Target, when I bought it I had no clue what it smelled like but I really liked the packaging (I'm a sucker for pretty packaging). The scent itself is beautiful but something I will probably wear more during the fall and winter months because the notes tend to lean to the heavier side of things.
Ah, Juicy Couture perfume, my old friend- we've come to meet again.  I bought this at Marshalls because the end that broke off of my Juicy Couture rollerball was this scent.  It's very floral and perfect for spring and summer time.  It's a very light perfume but the scent stays around all day, which is great when you don't have time to touch up your perfume like when you're at school and traveling.
Now to my all time favorite perfumes- the Vera Wang Princess perfumes!  The original Vera Wang Princess was my very first "grown-up" perfume and since then I've been seeing which ones I can find at places like Marshalls or TJ Maxx.  The Vera Wang Princess perfumes I have are; original Princess, Flower Princess, Preppy Princess, and the newest one Princess Power.  I love how girly the bottles are but how sophisticated the scents are.  All of them have hints of vanilla in them but then the main notes differ from perfume to perfume.  For example, Flower Princess has more floral notes like daffodil and daisy but original Princess has very strong notes of Vanilla, Lilac (or it may be Lavendar, sometimes I can't tell) and other sweet scents but not to the point of being over powering.   I find the bottles to be surprisingly easy to hold, the heart shape curves to the hand just perfectly. Pictured below is what the tops look like, they all have the crown that you pull off to reveal the sprayer but they vary in what stone or gem is put into the sides of it and then they all have the lower band with smaller jewels of the same color as the crown which I think makes the bottles look very elegant.
Finally we come to body sprays, of which I have quite a few. I have three from Bath and Body Works, one signature collection scent in Forever Midnight and two of the diamond mists in Paris Amor and Japanese Cherry Blossom.  With the latter being my ultimate favorite, I even have it in full hand sanitizer size.  I then have a Lavender Woods scent that I picked up at Ulta which I really like because it is reminiscent of my favorite scent of Lavender and Sandalwood.  Then, this may seem a bit odd, but I have two Old Spice body mists. Why, you may ask? Well, I just really like how they smell so I got them.  I know they're for guys but I just can't get enough of the scents especially Swagger which is the tall can but I also have Foxcrest in the little short can.  Sure the scents are a bit musky, but I like that, I feel like I smell really fresh when I wear those two (obviously not together, and obviously only one spray so as to not over power myself).
So, there it is, my perfume and body spray collection.  I hope you guys liked this post.  If you have any suggestions or ideas for what posts or videos you would like to see me do next, leave a comment down below and I'll write it down in my handy dandy bloggy notebook.  Until next time! XOXO

City Color Cosmetics City Chic lipstick Review!

One of the booths I went a little crazy over at IMATS was the City Color Cosmetics booth.  Everything was so fairly priced and the color and product selection was amazing!  I hadn't heard about this cosmetic company  until I saw their booth so, naturally, I was intrigued and my mom and I went to go and investigate.  There we found so many goodies, we almost picked one of everything (don't worry, I said ALMOST).  Me being the lip product junky I am, I immediately gravitated towards the lippy section and boy was I happy with what I found! Lipgloss/lipstick duos, matte lipsticks, regular lipsticks, great lip pencils, and lipglosses- I was practically in heaven.  Below I'll tell you what I got, the retail price of the City Chic lipsticks, and what I think of each product- so let's get started!

Two of the lipsticks I picked out were from their City Chic collection, which is your typical lipstick but when I wore it I noticed a great moisturizing property about it.  Above is what the packaging looks like; it's a hard, black, plastic case that is square and then a clear acrylic type bottom so you can see what the product looks like which is a major bonus in my book.  I love when companies do something like this because you can store the lipstick upside down and know exactly what the color is that you're looking is without having to take the cap off.  The retail price of each lipstick is $4.99 for each lipstick which is a great price for their quality.
I, of course, picked a pink and a red but this time the pink was not fuschia or hot pink it's actually a nice baby, tea rose sort of pink- almost nude in a way.  The pink one I got is in P1 'Pinky Promise' and the red I got is in R3 'Lady in Red'.  These lipsticks are super pigmented and they're quite moisturizing.  These lipsticks don't dry out your lips, in fact they do the opposite.
Just from these swatches you can see how pigmented they are.  I am really really beyond pleased with this product and would love to try more colors of the City Chic lipstick line as well as their other products, with the ones I have being reviewed soon.  Their website is here so go and check them out and get some goodies for yourself.  There are quite a few great items on special right now, so it's an even better time to check them out! XOXOX

IMATS 2015 Vlog!

Hello my lovely Stars! As many of you may or may not have known, I had the honor of being able to go to LA IMATS this year at the Pasadena Convention Center.  I shot a quick vlog while I was there and I wanted to share it with you guys here.
It was such an amazing experience and there's so much to do besides shopping! I went to a talk about how to get an agent and how to build and make your portfolio presentable to potential clients and possible representation.  I saw so many cool things while I was there- amazing makeup looks going on some of which you see in this vlog, but I'll also put some pictures down below of some of the cooler makeup looks they were doing.  They were doing everything from body painting at MAC to full on monster prosthetics.  Speaking of MAC, guess who finally got her MAC Pro card? This blogger!  When I got onto the floor for the first time I saw there was absolutely no line to get to MAC so I made a bee line to their booth and got the process going as soon as I could and about fifteen minutes later I was holding my temporary MAC pro card (I should be recieving my actual one any day now).  Now, it wouldn't be a makeup convention if I didn't buy things, or is that just me? LOL I got stuff for my personal makeup and collection but I also got some things for my kit like a blush palette and a contouring palette that is technically for both myself and my kit.  I had a lot of fun with my mom too, you'll get to meet her in this video.  I also had the opportunity to hand out my business card to a few makeup companies and I looked at every school they had there (except the Ruby Makeup Academy. No. Just, no) I hope you guys enjoy this video and go to my channel (linked below) and subscribe and maybe give the video a thumbs up if you like it? That'd be super swell! I hope you are all well and enjoying your new year! XOXOX

How to do the Ten Minute Face (Video)

Hey guys! I'm back with another video for you from my YouTube channel (you should go and subscribe, just sayin' :D) Now that we're in the day and age where everything is go, go, go, who has time in the morning to do a full 30 minute makeup application? I certainly don't also, I'm not a morning person (sometimes) and getting up and then putting on a full face of makeup seems daunting.  So I came up with this idea of how to pare down your full face to a ten minute version.  It looks just as nice and polished but it's quick and easy and uses as few products as possible.  This is my first tutorial so I hope that it's not too horrendous. Enjoy and if you like what you see, go to my YouTube page to subscribe for more videos! XOXOXO

A New Year, A New Spending Ban

Hello my fellow beauty lovers, it's time to say the words that we never want to hear- it's time for a spending ban.  I know, I know, scary words but they could never be more needed than now.  Today I bought two pieces of makeup that I had had my eyes on for a while, but I had also just been to IMATS and bought a lot of makeup.  After my mom gave me a stern talking to, I realized that I really needed a spending ban.  Not only to save money and not buy so much makeup and use up what I have but also because I'm trying really hard to learn how to manage my finances now that all of my loans are in pay back mode and that I have no job as of current and I have much more important places to put my money.  That as well as I want to learn how to save money for something special.  So while this whole 'makeup and other frivolous things' spending ban goes until June 28 (except for gift cards or gifts) I will not be buying anything I don't desperately need.  I hope you guys can support me in this mission to teach myself better financial skills. XOXO

Are you going to or have done a spending ban? How did it go for you?

NEW Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquers: REVIEW

I picked up three colors of Revlon's new lip lacquers called the Ultra HD Lacquers from Ulta and I couldn't be more happy with my selection of colors and of the consistency of these lip glosses.  They have a painters brush instead of a doe foot applicator, which I find as a nice change.  I find that with the paint brush applicator I get more precision and can outline my lips easier than with a doe foot applicator.  Another nice thing is that it's not super sticky or tacky, it just glides on and doesn't  take a lot of effort.  My favorite color out of the ones that I purchased is Garnet which is the darkest color in the picture.  They definitely live up to the Ultra HD title.  These lip glosses are highly pigmented and are true to the color you see in the tube. They also have lipsticks in the same line but I haven't tried them yet.  Have you tried these? What do you think of them? XOXO
