Inspired look- The Hulk

Hiya folks, another nerdy related post here #noshame.  I am in full geek out mode because of all of the Marvel movies coming out over the next couple months and with Doctor Who coming back on August 23, I'm in nerd nirvana.  Today's look is inspired by Dr. Banner aka The Hulk.  But first let me show you the base to my face

Go Bold or Go Home

I love crazy bright colors, especially when it comes to makeup but the other day I went to Lawrence, Kansas to see Combichrist (headliner) and William Control (one of the opening acts).  The only concerts I had been to were rock and roll, i.e. The Who, so wild and crazy makeup was never needed and for everyday I like to go for a more natural, glittery look.  So, when this metal concert came up and I decided to go, I knew I wanted to wear some crazy bright eyeshadows and luckily the clothes I borrowed from my friend was my favorite color combination.  Here's what I did!

 Everything minus the shorts is my best friend's clothes.  But I did pink and green through my hair and on my eyes.  I, luckily, happened to have pink and green hair clip ins and so that worked out perfectly.  The biggest thing about me pulling off this look was confidence and bravery so if you want to try bold colors, just go for it!

Personal Style: Soda Shop Sweetheart

I thought I would share one of my favorite dresses with you all.  It's a fifties style, A-line skirt, sweetheart neckline dress in mint green with white polka dots.  I got it from modcloth.com in October and it's called the Soda Shop Sweetheart Dress.  My shoes, I got at Marshalls- they are cream colored with white bows and match stick heels and platform front.  I love the style of the fifties, so I got this dress for the opening of the show I directed last semester called "The How and The Why".  What do you guys think?
