Brush Basics
Hello my beautiful Stars, how are you doing? As you can tell by the title, today's post is all about brush basics. I found a five piece brush set on Amazon with the most basic and necessary brushes and am going to explain for what and how you should use each brush. Now for some of you this may seem super basic because, like me, you have jars full of brushes but for others just starting out brushes can seem very scary and confusing. Well, have no fear I'm here to calm your nerves and explain how to use your most necessary basic brushes. I will also end the post with a quick explanation as to how to care for your brushes, i.e. how to wash them and what soap to use. Let's get started shall we?

Eyelash Curlers, Torture Chambers or Objects of Brilliance?
Earlier today I was asked by one of my friends what the best eyelash curlers are and that got me thinking, besides answering just her question why not also calm the nerves of those just entering into makeup and trying one of them for the first time? They look like 'torture chambers' as my boyfriend calls them but they truly aren't. They do require a bit of finesse but once you've got it down, you're golden. So let's get started with some of the best curlers out there and then I'll explain, to the best of my ability, on how to use them. Shall we begin?

How to: No Heat Curls
Here we have another simple trick to make your hair look nice without you having to fry it with a flat iron (guilty) or a curling iron. I first found this trick on pinterest last year and have been doing it ever since if I want to have curly hair without all of the muss and fuss.
The curls that come out of this are pretty messy, so it's a good style to do half up half down in my opinion. It does give your hair a good amount of volume as well, especially if you use a volumizing mouse. I hope you enjoyed this how to :) XOXO
All you have to do is put a sweat band around your head, so it looks like it could be a really bad fashion statement, and then you take a section of hair and loop it around the band once. Then you add a little bit more hair to that firs section and wrap it again. You keep doing this until all of your hair is wrapped around your head on this sweat band. You should do this when your hair is still slightly damp but not completely soaked, nor totally dry. If it's totally wet, your hair will never dry then you just have a damp mess on your hands and if you do it when it's completely dry the hair will not stay on the band. Each person's hair is different though, so I suggest trying a few different versions of dampness to see what works best for you. This is what the finished product should look like:
