I don't usually go for the mini eyeshadow palettes in the store because I can just as easily create the colors with a larger palette that I already own. But when I saw this palette, I couldn't get my mind off of it so I finally broke down and bought it. What did I purchase? The Revlon Photoready eyeshadow palette in 505 'Impressionist'.

A wonderful 21st Birthday
The 28th was my 21st birthday, the big marker of finally being legal. I spent it at Universal Studios with my parents and had the time of my life. Universal City Walk has a Lush store and I always go in and pick up a thing or two but since it was my birthday, I did a little more treating at Lush and Hot Topic. Whoops.

Rimmel Gel Liner: REVIEW
I bought this a while back but only just started using it on a day to day basis. I had never been one to get on with gel liners, I never seemed to get the handiness of it. That was all true until I tried this beauty. It comes with a handy dandy liner brush that fits my hand perfectly and makes it a breeze to put on. The staying power is fantastic, lasting up to 8 hours. Now, this isn't waterproof so it will smudge if gotten wet or you rub your eyes, which I have done. I used to be a liquid and pencil only girl but this has changed my heart on the whole matter and I am in love. You can get this at Walmart, Target, anywhere Rimmel products are sold. Have you tried this? What do you think of it?XOXO

Yves Saint Laurent Gloss in #15 Golden: Review
Here's another brand I've been dying to try because they are raved about by every beauty blogger I read and they have such pretty colors in their range. I had been on the fence about buying myself one because I'm trying to save up for a car BUT my best guy friend is amazeballs and let me pick out one thing from Sephora as my graduation gift so needless to say, I picked a YSL lipgloss. I chose the color #15 Golden which is actually more of a bright pink than gold but it does have gold shimmer running through it.
Hourglass lipgloss in Iconic: REVIEW
Ever since I saw some of my favorite bloggers Vivianna and Liana Beauty rave about this lipgloss, I've been trying to convince myself to get it. The big thing stopping me was the price tag, I just couldn't bring myself to do it but when I was in Sephora's last week I found the perfect thing- a mini version of their red lipgloss, called Iconic, on sale for $10. Well, I just couldn't pass that up now could I? Of course I couldn't, so it immediately found its way into my basket. I gave a try of it today and here is what I think.

The Wedding Series: Purple Haze
For the next part in my wedding series, I'll be showing you how to make purple work and not look tacky in a look I call Purple Haze.
My base is the same as in bronzed beauty, Revlon Photo Ready liquid foundation in Ivory topped with Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 003 Natural. I love using Revlon products because they go on with such ease and have a good medium to full coverage. On my cheeks I again used the Cargo blush in Los Cabos. This blush gives a nice wash of color to your cheeks without being in your face bright.
All over my lid I used Magic which is a pinky purple with an iridescent glow. I then used the third eye shadow from the bottom, which is a combination of bright pink and bright purple with some shimmer in my crease and to create a nice shape to my eyes. I then used Tornado, the deep purple, just on the very corners of my eyes to give them some depth. For eyeliner I used a deep eggplant purple called Rockstar by Urban Decay in their 24/7 Glide on eye pencil.
Then for my lashes I used the Lash Accelerator to do my upper and lower lashes. I really like the brush of this mascara because it is much smaller than most mascara's so you have the chance to coat every lash. It also helps to lengthen my lashes and make them look fuller.
To finish off the look I wanted to go for a 'my lips but better' look. For that I chose Stila shimmer luxe gloss in Kitten. The brush is like that of a normal brush and not a doe foot applicator, which makes it much easier to apply precisely.
What do you think of this look? XOXO

MAC lipstick "Head in the Clouds" REVIEW
My MAC lipstick collection is slowly growing, slow and steady wins the race. The latest color I picked up is the color A14 "Head in the Clouds" which is a bright red with gold shimmer running through it. The color payout is exactly what you would expect from any MAC lipstick, impeccable. The formula is creamy and non drying. The lipstick has a staying power of around three to four hours before I need to reapply it.
You would think because of the glitter/shimmer that it would be gritty and not pleasant to put on but it's quite the opposite. When I apply this I don't even use a lip brush, which I usually do when applying reds to make the application process precise. Have you tried this color, what do you think of it? XOXO

Tips for the day before your Wedding
Another non beauty related post, but it does go with my Wedding series of posts.

- Treat yourself to a mini facial including a face mask, cucumbers, and iced tea.
- Make sure you are all packed for your honeymoon and that you have your passport if needed.
- Watch your favorite movie
- Get enough sleep
- Drink plenty of water
- Use a serum in lieu of your evening moisturizer.
The Wedding Series: Bronzed Beauty
Hello all, I'm back again with another part of the Wedding Series with this look focusing on bronze and gold toned colors. This is a great look for both brides, bridesmaids, and guests alike because it is so versatile and goes with practically any color dress you can come up with. This look is about giving you a nice healthy glow without having to go to the tanning salon and risk doing damage to your skin. First, I will show you the final product and then tell you how I went about creating it.

The Wedding Series: Rose Garden
I'm back with another wedding related post for my Wedding Series. This look was built around the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, which is all rose gold hued colors which I believe will look gorgeous on a wedding day.
Again, let's start with a blank canvas with just toner and moisturizer on.

The Wedding Series: Au Natural
The next few days is going to be dedicated to good wedding looks for the bride as well as for the guests. I chose to do this series because summer is a big wedding season. This first look is inspired by the natural beauty that is inside the bride and allows her natural features show through, so I kept it light and airy with a neutral color palette. Enjoy!
Here we have a very bare faced me, so you have an idea as to what I'm working with.

Wedding Do's and Don't's
As it is summer and there are so many weddings happening, I thought that it would be good to share some of the wedding tips I have learned through my blogging and wedding attendee experience.
1. If you are planning to get a facial before your wedding, be sure to do it at least a week in advance so your skin will have time to calm down.
2. The same rule applies to getting your eyebrows waxed, threaded, or plucked.
3. Do a makeup trial prior to the wedding and wear a shirt that is the same color as your wedding dress so that you can see how the colors will work together.
4. Do not use a tanning bed to get the glow you want, instead use a product such as Jergens gradual tanner to create a nice glow without looking orange or damaging your skin.
5. Drink plenty of water leading up to the big day. It will help to keep you hydrated and your skin looking healthy.
6. Make sure to use plenty of moisturizer and eye cream to keep your skin looking radiant.
7. Don't let your makeup outshine you, this is your day!
8. If you're not totally comfortable with false lashes, don't try to wear them on your big day- stick to what you're comfortable with.

Let's try something new
The other day I went to the mall with my mom to pick some things up and of course I had to stop in Sephora. The Sephora in my mall has just started carrying Soap and Glory products which made my day because I love Soap and Glory- the scent, the texture, everything. Here are some of the things that I picked up.

A Perfumed post
I am a sucker when it comes to body sprays and perfumes, so it's needless to say that there are quite a few that I own and today I wanted to share them with you!

My Five Product Face
I've been seeing a lot of five product face posts lately so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and give my two cents on the subject. On a day to day basis this is more or less what I reach for since day to day I'm a very natural face kind of person, so this is right up my alley.

Urban Decay Moondust: REVIEW!
I talked briefly about this product in yesterday's post and figured I would do a full review of Urban Decay's Moondust eyeshadow in Glitter Rock which is a pinky purple glitter eyeshadow. You can purchase them on the Urban Decay Website, at Ulta, or Sephora for $20. Like most eyeshadows, this can be used wet or dry but personally I prefer to use them dry.

And then there was one (or four)
I'm a palette kind of person when it comes to eyeshadows but when it comes to certain colors I just feel the need to own them on their own. The other thing is that they are all different brands too, drugstore to high end. Here are my individual thoughts on the four individual shadows I own :)

A new MAC love
It's needless to say that I love red lipsticks (and pink!), but I think I've found a new love in MAC's 'Head in the Clouds'.
I picked this beauty up when I was in the Mall of America, and I'm really happy with my choice. This is a frosted red from their regular collection, so you don't have to worry about it disappearing anytime soon!
The frost in this is more of a gold shimmer, which I really love. I do think of this as more of a shimmer than a frost, to be quite honest. The red is more of an orange tinted red than blue, so be sure to test it out before you buy especially if you are wary of bright lip colors. The formulation is like all of their lipsticks, nice and creamy. This stuff applies like a dream and doesn't smear or bleed, at least not that I've noticed. I've been wearing this without lip liner and have not noticed it bleeding or smearing out which is a big bonus since I don't wear lip liner very often.
In this swatch it looks a lot more blue toned than it actually is but it looks a lot different on the lips. What are some of your favorite reds that I should try out? XOXO

New organization!
Well well, I'm back folks! Moving home has been hectic but now that's all done and out of the way, I can go back to blogging. With a recent move came some new organization and a trip to Ikea.
At Ikea I picked up Muji-esque drawers and I re-organized my makeup and put it out and on display. These storage drawers helped me to go through what I have and get rid of things that I don't necessarily use.
