Makeup MAYhem Day 16: Some of the Most Underrated Products

I had a lot of trouble just picking a few of what I believe to be underrated products so I picked a lot.  I picked so many, though, that I had to make a collage because otherwise it would be the most picture heavy post you have ever seen me do.  This post is going to show you what I think is underrated and I'll at least mention each product and why I love it, which is the reason I would think it should be recognized more.  Not being in marketing, I can't tell you why they aren't as loved as other things so I won't be saying why they're underrated, just that I think they are.
I have a good plethora of things that are underrated and the biggest thing is the shimmer lotion in the scent A Thousand Wishes.  I didn't even know they had this product until I saw it in the Bath and Body Works shop a few months back.  The scent is what I believe is underrated.  It is absolutely delicious and has quickly become one of my favorite scents by the company.  I would like to get the body wash next.  The next object is the Rimmel bronzer.  Now, I love it because I'm very fair and it's hard to find a bronzer that works with my skin without making me look orange or muddy.  This does just that, it's got a nice shimmer to it and is more golden brown than tan or orange brown.  It's just the perfect thing.  Next up on the block is the contour brush by ELF, now this may be underrated now but definitely give it time and it will be up there with people's favorite ELF brushes like the 'C' brush.  It's brand new to the studio brush line but is absolutely amazing for stamping on your contour shade.
Now I, like many, are skeptical of NYC shadows because they look very cheap and chalky but this maroon palette I bought from them is just absolutely beautiful.  The darker colors are super pigmented and create a very nice smokey look.  This should definitely be something that should be flying off the shelves.  Another thing that initially flew off shelves but has since stopped is the Ulta contour and highlighting kit.  People may think that it would be bad quality because it is Ulta brand and, let's face it, their brand is not known for their quality or at least it wasn't.  This is the most versatile contour palette with two shimmery highlighters and four contour/bronzer shades.  It is absolutely beautiful and wonderful and you need it in your life right now.
The Wet n' Wild eyeshadow primer was the big surprise in this list.  I find it to be as good as my Urban Decay primer when it comes to giving my eyeshadows color vibrancy.  The Revlon PhotoReady concealer is something that everyone should have for the days when they have a really red monster zit because you put this over it and you can't spot the zit anymore.  It's not cakey or heavy but it is a full coverage concealer.  The Intense Shine palette is on this list because I have never heard or seen anyone, even those who love City Color, talk about it.  The colors are absolutely pigmented and they are the most beautiful jewel tones I have ever seen.  Now, the NARS nail polish really surprised me because, come on, it's NARS! My nails like to chip two hours after I've put polish on but not this brand.  Nope.  It stays on for a good long while and looks stunning whilst doing so, so go and get yourself some NARS polish, like, yesterday.
I just realized how long this post is going to be, so imagine me saying I love each product that is left (which I do) and that I am shocked I don't hear more about it.  Just, try these products. Trust me, you won't (or at least I hope) be disappointed.  What are some products that you think are underrated? XOXO

My Top 5 Blushes 💗

Well, I've finally done it, I've gone bonkers and paired down my many many blushes (if you'd like to see them all, please let me know) and picked my top five favorites.  These were not light hearted decisions and the ones I've picked, I really love.  I'm going to go from left to right describing them and I hope you maybe find some new blushes you would like to try out because of this post.
1. Milani Rose Blush in 08 'Tea Rose is the first in the line up.  I don't usually like matte blushes but this is a matte blush and it made it's way into my top five.  It's a nice deeper pink, but a deep pink that pale people can wear.  It is very smooth and soft, which makes it very nice to blend.
2. NARS blush in Super Orgasm is probably my all time favorite blush.  I love glitter and so the fact that it had gold glitter flecks in the blush is what drew me to it.  The big plus was that the peachy gold colored blush the glitter was in was absolutely gorgeous and was the final nail in shopping coffin and it found it's way into my Sephora basket.  It is highly pigmented which means all I have to use is a very light hand and you get a very nice color pay off.  I have a mini travel size of this color too, that's how much I love it.
3. Maybelinne's Dream Bouncy Blush in 30 Candy Coral.  I don't quite know how to explain the texture of this blush.  It's not a cream and it's not a powder but it is 'bouncy', like, you press it and it bounces back a little bit.  However you would describe the texture, it does nothing to compare to the product itself.  Note that with this blush you can really only use a stippling brush or your finger and my favorite brush to use is the E.L.F. small stippling brush, ANYWAYYY.   The color is absolutely amazing and beautiful, and the color pay off is just WOW! You have to use a very light hand or you will be blending for days, that's how pigmented it is.
4. NYX powder blush in Pinched, I have to say that I only purchased this because they said it was a drugstore dupe for the NARS Orgasm blush (it actually kind of is) but since then have come to love it as it's own.  It's a peachy pink color with a slight to mid golden shimmer running through it, and I absolutely love it.  It is a bit powdery but not so much that it takes me off it.
5. Tarte 24 Hour Blush in Adored, this is full size (I believe) that I got in a gift set.  It's a bright baby, almost Barbie, pink with a silver/white glitter running through the entire blush.  I think this is a gorgeous color, especially for spring and summer because it is so fresh and so beautiful.  This isn't very powdery and it blend pretty well, it's sort of in the middle in the road in that aspect.  As for the 24 hour claim, I don't know about that, but I do know that it lasts at least 10-12 hours when I wear it, which is super fantastic.
What are some of your favorite blushes? I'm dying to know! XOXO

NARS nail polish in Sharks Right: REVIEW!

Hello Stars! I'm back with another review, but this time it's about the NARS nail polish collection by Pierre Hardy from the summer of 2014 and they came in duos and this is from the Sharks duo that also came with a light Canary yellow color.   You can still find them on E-bay and Amazon at various prices if you are interested in obtaining this nail polish.
Where can I start? I LOVE this product!! It's beautiful, the product itself is wonderful and well made.  My favorite thing about this nail polish? It is opaque in just one coat.  This is actually my first go with the purple of this nail polish, I had tried the yellow before and had liked it, so I'm pleased that this one is so nice too.  Generally NARS nail polishes run about $20 a pop but you can find this duo on Amazon for about $14, I just ordered myself a new color from the collection and Super Orgasm nail polish. Super Orgasm is my all time favorite blush so I figured I would try the nail polish.
The application process was amazing too, it is a bit thick but not gloopy thick and nothing that wiping the brush doesn't fix. All in all, I'm really really REALLY happy with this product and as soon as I try the other ones I will let you know what I think of the other nail polishes I ordered. The other nail polish on my pointer finger is a Butter London polish in silver glitter.
Have you tried any of the NARS nail polishes, what do you think of them? XOXO

The Wedding Series: Rose Garden

I'm back with another wedding related post for my Wedding Series.  This look was built around the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, which is all rose gold hued colors which I believe will look gorgeous on a wedding day.
Again, let's start with a blank canvas with just toner and moisturizer on.

My Five Product Face

I've been seeing a lot of five product face posts lately so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and give my two cents on the subject.  On a day to day basis this is more or less what I reach for since day to day I'm a very natural face kind of person, so this is right up my alley.

I should NEVER be allowed in Sephora... or Ulta... or MAC...

Hello my lovelies!  I'm back with another haul post, this time from Sephora and MAC.  I got a lot of my favorites from Sephora and a new lipstick from MAC.  I also found my Easter dress for when I go to my friend's house and so I want to look nice.

A Blusher of a Problem

In light of the, erm, heavy snowfall today, I took out all of my blushers to show you guys and created this very picture heavy post.  Whilst doing this, I realized I may never have to purchase a blusher for another ten years! Including these, I also have a palette that has four blushers in it and another Stila self adjusting cheek color in Coral which I forgot to photograph. So let's get started, shall we?

DUPE for Nars Orgasm!

I had heard that the NYX blush in Pinched is an exact dupe for the famous Nars blush in Orgasm.  The Nars blush is one of the most iconic shades in makeup kind, being flattering on almost anyone.  Just like the Nars blush, the NYX blush is a peachy pink with gold running through it.  It can be put on as a sheer swipe or built up to a more solid color.  It really helps to warm every person's face up and gives it that 'just kissed' glow.
This blush has very quickly become one of my favorites.  It blends really easily and has a wonderfully pigmented color.  It's not too overpowering and isn't very glittery, it just has a nice sheen to it.  This is definitely one of my favorite blushes- I highly suggest you pick it up  if you get the chance!
What is your favorite blush dupe? XOXO
