Revlon Baby Sticks: Review!

Alright so maybe you remember a post I did a while back (link is here) about how excited I was for the Revlon Baby Sticks- color for lips and cheeks- I pestered the people at stores if they were in yet and the Revlon facebook page about when they would hit the stores, I wanted them that much.  They only come in three colors: a light coral pink called Tahitian, a bright pink that is called Pink Passion, and a red color called Sunset.  I only bought one, just to make sure I liked it and I got the color Tahitian.

I know it says it can be used for both lips and cheeks, but it is too pale for my liking on my lips but I love it on my cheeks.  It's a pale coral/mainly baby pink color that looks wonderful on pale skin tones.  It gives you a nice natural flush that isn't too bright or summer/spring time bright. It just looks very natural.   The one problem I have is that I don't know the right way to apply it, whether I should dab it onto my fingers, use a stippling brush, or go straight from the tube (which is what I've been doing).  I'm also looking into getting the pink passion color because, well, mainly because I love pink colors.

Another opening, another show!

Last night, I had the honor of going to the opening night of Stephens College Performing Arts Department presentation of Legally Blonde: The Musical.  It was a beautifully done show with amazing talents performing which I am so lucky to call my friends and classmates.  I did my makeup all nice and pretty for the show but not in pink!! Instead I chose colors that matched the water color pattern of the skirt of the dress I was wearing.

For my lips, I used my ever loved Revlon Just Been Kissed balm stain in Sweetheart because it really does stay put and it's a lovely bright color.  On my cheeks I used the brand new Revlon Baby Sticks color for lips and cheeks in the lightest color, which is a mix of a light baby pink and  a coral- it's really lovely and goes on really nicely, expect a review soon!  For my foundation I used my new Revlon Photo Ready foundation, and I've totally fallen in love with it.  I think I may have fallen in love with the whole Revlon line, at least the Photo Ready section of it!

Please excuse the icky eyebrows, I hadn't groomed them in a little over a week!  To create this eye, I used my BH Cosmetics Eye Shadow 88 color palette, #2.  I first primed my eye with Revlon Photo Ready eye shadow primer, I'm still on the ropes about the packaging but the product is great!  I put a base of a light teal/ocean green blue non shimmer all over my lid and then took a light forest shimmery green and put it on the inside half of my lid and then on the outside and the crease I used a bright, shimmery blue.  Up into my arch I dusted a yellow/gold shimmer color as a brow highlighter as well.  I finished it all of with a few swipes of my Covergirl Lash Blast mascara.

The Weekend Post #8: The #1 product I'm excited for this Spring!

It's been a week since my last post, Ahhhhh! Bad blogger, bad blogger.  In my defense, we start tech week this week so last week was scramble time and we had auditions this weekend.  Weak excuse, but trust me, totally valid. So here is what I'm looking forward to coming out in drugstores this spring!!

These, right here! *Edit; I do not own this picture* These are Revlon Baby Sticks- Blush in a twist up tube! They come in three colors; a baby/coral pink, a fuchsia/bright pink, and a bright shocking red. These are a part of their Spring 2013 collection.  They definitely mirror the lean toward chubby stick lip colors and eye colors, which I have to admit, is one of my favorite makeup fads.  I have three different twist up chubby sticks lip color, one Clinique and two that are by *shocker* Revlon. Obviously, I have no swatches of these cheek sticks but I'm really excited to get my hands on the baby/coral pink.  I'm hoping they're sheer but buildable.  These would be great to keep in your backpack, purse, or on your carry on for a pick me up on the plane. I love the colors, so bright and spring like! I have high hopes for these, so I hope they do not disappoint. I am beyond excited for these to hit shelves.  I asked the official Revlon facebook page when they would be available and they said they will be on sale in April, so look for a post once I've gotten my hands on one (or maybe two ;D)
